Approach

Jillian’s person-centred and trauma-informed approach is grounded in intersectional theories with a cultural care and safety lens. They focus on a person’s individual nature and encourage the client to take more of a lead-in therapy so that, in the process, they can discover their own solutions and use their personal intuition to find wisdom, growth, healing and fulfillment within themselves. In therapy, Jillian offers a safe, non-judgmental and nurturing space for clients to express themselves and process difficult feelings, life transitions and daily struggles. Jillian can help clients connect to a greater awareness of their experiences while releasing tension by using methods such as art-making, body movements, breath-work, creativity, experimentation, exploration, interpersonal communication, meditation, and visual guidance. Their use of Art Therapy aims to resolve internal conflicts or issues of lived experience. It also aims to help in developing strategic and healthy ways of coping with difficult situations.
