Teresa Vozza


Teresa has more than 20 years of experience working with families experiencing a variety of challenges from parenting concerns and protection issues to anger management, domestic violence and grief and loss. 

Teresa earned her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle, Vancouver Campus and her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Criminology from Simon Fraser University.  She has also received training in Trauma Counselling and Clinical Supervision from the Justice Institute of BC.  She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC #2172).


Teresa believes parenting can be rewarding and fulfilling but it can also be demanding and challenging. She enjoys working with parents to help find solutions to problems they are experiencing. She works with people to learn effective strategies to help them reconnect with their family in a meaningful way. She has significant experience working with folks navigating the child protection, court and criminal justice systems. Teresa also has 10 years of experience providing clinical support, direction and supervision to students from a variety of institutions including UBC, SFU, Adler and City University. She has supported students to successfully complete their internships and navigate their registration process. She will be providing clinical supervision to counsellors at Phare.


Teresa understands that seeking help takes courage. She is here to guide you through life’s challenges. She is collaborative and strength-based in her approach. She provides a supportive, respectful and non-judgemental environment. She utilizes many different modalities including Family Systems, Client-Centred and Attachment Theory, depending on the goals and preferences of her clients and/or students.
